Arrival in Varna
Varna is a very accessible city with a number of daily flight connections from major European Cites. There are also several domestic flights and trains to Varna from Sofia or other Bulgarian towns. Timetables of flight connections for Varna and Sofia airports are available.

For those who arrive by plane
Varna Airport (http://www.varna-airport.bg/) is located 7,5 km west of the city centre.
There are taxi connections from the airport into the city centre (near to the Cathedral of the Assumptions - about 1 km west from the Festival and Congress Centre).

Travel agency “Zlaten tour” offers you the following transfers:
1) Varna (airport) – Hotel:
- 20 EUR /individual car (for up to 2 persons);
- 10 EUR/ person (for 3 – 6 persons);
- 5 EUR/ person ( for 7 and more persons);
2) Hotel – Varna (airport):
- 20 EUR /individual car (for up to 2 persons);
- 10 EUR/ person (for 3 – 6 persons);
- 5 EUR/ person ( for 7 and more persons);

For those who arrive by train
The train station in Varna is in the middle of the eastern part of the town (http://www.bdz.bg/, bdz@bdz.bg or tel.: +359 52 222 551). The distance Sofia-Varna takes about 8 hours by train.

Climate and Clothing
The average temperature for September in Varna is 190C for the air and 20,60C for the sea water. The average precipitation for the month is 28 l/m2, the average humidity - 73%. At this time the weather in Varna is still fine for swimming and taking bath on the beach.

Currency
The unit of currency in Bulgaria is the Lev. Most foreign currencies can be exchanged at most banks and exchange offices. Traveler’s cheques and major credit cards are widely accepted at major tourist hotels and banks. The exchange rate is subject to market fluctuations. On July 12, 2006 1GBP=2,8283 Bulgarian Levs, 1 EUR=1,9558 Bulgarian Levs, 1 USD=1,5373 Bulgarian Levs.

Passport and Visa
Visitors entering Bulgaria must carry a valid passport and, in some cases, a visa is required. Participants are advised to contact their Bulgarian Embassy or Consulate, or local travel agent for details.

Local Transportation
The public transport in Varna is good with frequent bus services throughout the area. Tickets for single journeys are purchased on the bus and cost 0,60 levs for all buses routes and distances inside the town.
